Window displays at a Travelbag location.

Designed to shine even in direct sunlight, digital window displays make sure your messaging is always visible.

Your window is one of the most valuable pieces of real estate in your operation

and most businesses use it to display a printed poster that was last changed six weeks ago.

A digital window display turns that passive surface into an active, scheduled, always-current marketing channel. It captures footfall before it reaches the door, communicates your current offer in the most visually compelling format available, and can be updated instantly from a central platform without anyone needing to organise a last minute print production run.

For retail operators, hospitality venues, quick service restaurants and foodservice brands, the window is often the first brand touchpoint a potential customer has. What it says — and how it says it — has a direct effect on whether they walk in.

What window displays deliver

For Marketing teams, window displays enable a live, scheduled promotional channel that can carry current campaigns, time-sensitive offers and seasonal messaging — updated centrally, displaying consistently across all locations, without reliance on print production.

For Operations teams, they remove the operational overhead of managing printed window materials — no ordering, no delivery, no installation, no disposal. A content update is a platform change, not a logistics operation.

For Procurement, the total cost of ownership of a well-specified window display typically compares favourably to the ongoing cost of print production, logistics and installation.

For Sustainability leads, replacing window printed materials with a digital display eliminates an ongoing source of paper and chemical waste; and modern high-brightness displays are engineered for energy efficiency, with automatic brightness adjustment responding to ambient light conditions.

Why window displays are a distinct category

Standard commercial displays are not designed for window environments. Ambient daylight and direct sunlight quickly overwhelm a screen that hasn’t been engineered specifically for high-brightness operation; what looks vivid in a dark showroom becomes washed out and illegible in a south-facing window on a bright day. The same applies to temperature: window environments experience significantly higher thermal stress than internal screen positions, particularly with the addition of solar gain.

Our window display range is engineered for this environment. With outward-facing brightness up to 3,500 nits (compared to 350–500 nits for a standard commercial display) content remains sharp and legible in direct sunlight. Internal temperature control and blackening-resistant screens protect the display’s longevity in conditions that would rapidly degrade a standard screen.

FAQ

What makes a digital window display different from a standard commercial screen?

Window displays are engineered for much higher brightness (up to 3,500 nits outward-facing versus 350–500 nits for standard commercial displays), enabling legibility in direct sunlight. They also include internal temperature control, blackening-resistant screens and weatherproof-rated enclosures to withstand the thermal stress of a window environment.

Can window displays be updated remotely?

Yes. All content updates are managed centrally via our content management platform and pushed to screens remotely — no re-printing required to update a promotion, seasonal offer or pricing change.

Can digital window displays be used for both indoor and outdoor visibility?

Yes. Our dual-sided window displays provide outward-facing content at 3,500 nits (for external visibility) and inward-facing content at 1,000 nits (for internal viewing), serving both audiences simultaneously from a single screen.
